Mission
These beneficial birds are an essential part of our environment and ecosystem.
As a sole proprietorship and veteran-owned small business, we are able to accommodate our program to many requests. Birds of prey are sentient beings and not pets or performers. These animals are treated with the utmost care and respect and ALL situations will be held at the discretion of the Owner/Falconer/Handler.
Falconry, also called Hawking, is the sport of taking wild quarry with trained birds of prey. Whether they are falcons, hawks, owls or eagles, they all hunt naturally in their wild state by instinct. A falconer uses their skill to hunt in a partnership with a bird of prey, training them to return.
While the sport of Falconry has been around for thousands of years, it is still considered very rare. Through all different cultures, generations, the many variations in hunting style, laws of the land, different species native to certain regions and the terrain available to hunt, it remains the same universally.

Have you ever wanted to check out a SnoBear? Well, here is your chance! We are so excited to be partnering with Glacial Lakes SnoBear for a demonstration on Roy Lake! We will also have an introduction to ice fishing, we will supply all the equipment. Crafts and snacks will be available in the Lodge sunroom for when you want to warm up! A local falconer will also be bringing her Great Horned Owl! Park Pass Required
Two days of historical festivities! Back again, for wildlife conservation presentations at the event tent, and sponsored at the adjutant building. Activities run: Friday: 5-9 p.m. | Saturday: 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. | Sunday: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person (11 and under free). Programs
Raptor Education Group
This main multi-educational program covers aspects of conservation, protection, historical lessons, and avian biology related to birds of prey. Also in-person interaction with permitted falconry conservation education birds. Future programs will feature federally permitted native raptor species of South Dakota!

Life as a licensed falconer. Learn what it is to commit to a falconry hunting license. This class DOES NOT issue you a permit. There is a lengthy process, and this covers the dedication and commitment in the pursuit of falconry. {Under 18 must be supervised by a parent/guardian.}

These donations will go to providing food for each bird and also the Avian Housing Facility: This building incurred a loan to build a safe and legal facility to house Federally protected Birds of Prey and keep the food in a clean facility with designated appliances for preparation. The multiple chambered mews gives individual birds their own indoor chamber with access to outside and a safe environment. Some birds are non-releasable, and these are the dimensions and guidelines put in place by the North American Rehabilitators Association for each species.

MEWS: Indoor/Outdoor Perches (Bow, Block, Ring, Transportation), Bath pans, Perch covering (rope, turf), shade cloth/tarps, hoses, spray nozzles, avian-safe cleaning supplies (solution, brushes, racks, trash bags, disposable gloves, safety glasses, mats), etc.
GEAR: Leather for bird equipment (anklet, jess replacement) --kangaroo, cowhide, rabbit fur (owls). Telemetry fund (Purchase, batteries, maintenance). Handler gloves. Leash material (nylon).
FOOD: Feeder quail food, feeder rodents, medicine (first aid kit), vitamins (i.e., Vitahawk)
Monthly food cost estimate: $200(summer)-$350(Winter-increased portions)
MISC: Office Supplies: Printer Paper (Fliers, handouts, binders). Printer cartridges. Cleaning supplies (Brooms, Trash Bags, etc.)
